Baoheshao town in Hohhot – capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – was recently selected in the second group of national key towns for rural tourism, as announced by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Baoheshao is located in the northeast of Hohhot city, near Hohhot East Railway Station and Hohhot Baita International Airport and adjacent to Hongsheng Industrial Park and Inner Mongolia Higher Vocational Park.
The town has a total area of 468.85 square kilometers, with 11 administrative villages and 29 natural villages under its jurisdiction.
The main tourism and leisure resources of Baoheshao are the Chilechuan Grassland, Chilechuan RV Camp and Matouqin Grassland Cultural Industry Park.
It receives 10.58 million tourists annually and generates annual tourism income of about 9.6 million yuan ($1.32 million).
