Applications for fall 2023 of Tianjin Juilliard started accepting applications for pre-college program on Oct 20, with interviews of candidates scheduled to start in April 2023.
The nondegree granting program, which first opened in the fall of 2019, offers a comprehensive conservatory-style music program covering 17 majors, including piano, violin, cello and composition, for advanced pre-college students aged from 8 to 18 years old. The program accepts Chinese nationals as well as international students.
Pre-college students are mentored by an international roster of faculty and given many opportunities to perform in solo, chamber, and orchestral concerts.
The Tianjin Juilliard campus, the first overseas campus of the New York-based Juilliard School, is the first performing arts institution in China to offer a US-accredited Master of Music degree.
"Students of the pre-college program are engaged in the authentic Juilliard experience and in a program completely aligned with its New York counterpart, designed to develop the next generation of musicians, leaders, and global citizens," said He Wei, the CEO of and artistic director of Tianjin Juilliard.
