With red leaves adorning the campus, Tianjin University announced its annual festival on October 29, organizing several literary events.
The areas around the university's Feng Jicai Research Institute of Literature and Art are some of the best spots to enjoy the red leaves. This year, students found the back wall of the institute a particularly desirable place to sketch from nature.
Some of the excellent poems collected during last year's event were recited. Students also offered musical performances using Chinese and Western musical instruments, such as the violin, piano, erhu and bamboo flute.
As one of the activities, submissions for a new collection of theme songs on "red leaves" were opened to all students and staff. Chosen works will be announced at next year's event.
The festival is a branding event of the university in order to inspire students to discover, create and enjoy beauty in the form of literature and art.
Yang Xianjin, secretary of the CPC Tianjin University Committee, Lei Ming, deputy secretary of the CPC Tianjin University Committee, and Feng Jicai, head of the Feng Jicai Research Institute of Literature and Art and famous writer in China, attended the event.
