On Oct 31, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 547 new cases of confirmed infections (49 imported cases, 13 in Fujian province, 12 in Beijing municipality, 7 in Guangdong province, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 15 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 5 in Fujian province, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Liaoning province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Guangdong province; 498 indigenous cases, 242 in Guangdong province, 82 in Fujian province, 23 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 21 in Beijing municipality, 17 in Shanxi province, 16 in Jiangsu province, 15 in Hunan province, 13 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 13 in Henan province, 11 in Shaanxi province, 9 in Sichuan province, 7 in Shandong province, 7 in Chongqing municipality, 5 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Yunnan province, 3 in Gansu province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guizhou province, 2 in Qinghai province, 2 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region and 1 in Anhui province, including 93 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 68 in Fujian province, 6 in Sichuan province, 4 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Guangdong province, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 3 in Gansu province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shanxi province and 1 in Hunan province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Oct 31, 187 patients were released from hospital after being cured (39 imported cases; 148 indigenous cases, 26 in Guangdong province, 22 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 19 in Sichuan province, 14 in Shanxi province, 13 in Shaanxi province, 9 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 6 in Beijing municipality, 6 in Jiangsu province, 6 in Hunan province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Chongqing municipality, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Guizhou province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Henan province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Gansu province). 55,421 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 4.

As of 24:00 on Oct 31, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 25,789 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 25,252 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 537 confirmed cases (1 case in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 31, the National Health Commission had received reports of 260,506 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 250,642 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 4,638 confirmed cases (including 24 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 7,822,452 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 597,693 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 31, 730 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (100 imported cases; 630 indigenous cases, 209 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 46 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 43 in Guangdong province, 38 in Sichuan province, 32 in Hubei province, 29 in Shandong province, 28 in Shaanxi province, 27 in Shanxi province, 19 in Hunan province, 17 in Jiangsu province, 16 in Henan province, 16 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 16 in Yunnan province, 11 in Tianjin municipality, 11 in Jilin province, 10 in Chongqing municipality, 9 in Guizhou province, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 7 in Tibet autonomous region, 6 in Anhui province, 6 in Qinghai province, 5 in Hebei province, 5 in Heilongjiang province, 4 in Liaoning province, 4 in Gansu province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Fujian province). 108 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 15 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 31, 20,170 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 1,134 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 31, 8,148,517 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 434,996 in Hong Kong (10,397 had died and 91,466 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 795 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 7,712,726 in Taiwan (12,831 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
