On Oct 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 377 new cases of confirmed infections (53 imported cases, 14 in Guangdong province, 13 in Fujian province, 7 in Sichuan province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Sichuan province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Guangdong province; 324 indigenous cases, 63 in Guangdong province, 54 in Shanxi province, 30 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 23 in Sichuan province, 20 in Beijing municipality, 20 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 20 in Jiangsu province, 20 in Hunan province, 19 in Chongqing municipality, 11 in Shaanxi province, 10 in Heilongjiang province, 10 in Fujian province, 4 in Gansu province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Shandong province, 3 in Henan province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Anhui province, 2 in Guizhou province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Tibet autonomous region and 1 in Qinghai province, including 27 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 6 in Fujian province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Gansu province, 3 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Guizhou province and 1 in Yunnan province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Oct 28, 234 patients were released from hospital after being cured (55 imported cases; 179 indigenous cases, 48 in Guangdong province, 23 in Shanxi province, 16 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 16 in Sichuan province, 13 in Beijing municipality, 13 in Shaanxi province, 8 in Yunnan province, 7 in Jiangsu province, 7 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 5 in Henan province, 4 in Liaoning province, 3 in Anhui province, 3 in Hubei province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Tibet autonomous region). 54,321 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Oct 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 25,650 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 25,101 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 549 confirmed cases (1 case in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 28, the National Health Commission had received reports of 259,037 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 250,010 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 3,801 confirmed cases (including 20 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 7,573,936 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 510,202 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,281 new asymptomatic cases (128 imported cases; 1,153 indigenous cases, 136 in Guangdong province, 125 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 111 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 94 in Fujian province, 91 in Shandong province, 85 in Qinghai province, 70 in Hubei province, 52 in Hunan province, 51 in Shaanxi province, 50 in Shanxi province, 47 in Heilongjiang province, 38 in Hebei province, 38 in Gansu province, 31 in Yunnan province, 24 in Henan province, 21 in Chongqing municipality, 19 in Sichuan province, 17 in Tianjin municipality, 16 in Jiangsu province, 9 in Anhui province, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Liaoning province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Tibet autonomous region, 2 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region and 1 in Zhejiang province).

On Oct 28, 915 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (112 imported cases; 803 indigenous cases, 333 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 57 in Guangdong province, 55 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 46 in Yunnan province, 43 in Hubei province, 32 in Shanxi province, 22 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 20 in Anhui province, 20 in Sichuan province, 19 in Shaanxi province, 18 in Jiangsu province, 16 in Shanghai municipality, 15 in Heilongjiang province, 15 in Shandong province, 15 in Hunan province, 11 in Jilin province, 10 in Henan province, 9 in Tianjin municipality, 9 in Chongqing municipality, 8 in Hebei province, 7 in Guizhou province, 7 in Gansu province, 5 in Jiangxi province, 4 in Liaoning province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Tibet autonomous region). 33 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 28, 16,235 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 1,095 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 28, 8,059,884 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 432,988 in Hong Kong (10,365 had died and 90,878 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 7,626,103 in Taiwan (12,620 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
