Alshaa Vocational College is a regular vocational college approved by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in January 2011 and registered with the Ministry of Education. It is managed by the Education Department of the Autonomous Region and the Administrative Office of Alshaa League, and is the only local institution of higher learning.
The college is located in Bayanhaote, Alshaa, and Wusitai Economic Development Zone (which has two campuses), an industrial town in Alshaa League, covering an area of more than 900 mu with a total construction area of 150,000 square meters.
The college has been formed by merging seven schools. As of May 2017, the college has nine teaching departments and nine management departments. There are 13 higher vocational majors, 22 secondary vocational majors and 15 undergraduate majors in the Open University of China. The school has 6,160 students. There are 403 faculty members, three full professors, 106 deputy high professional titles and 16 master's degree teachers.
The college won one first prize, one second prize and five excellent prizes in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Higher Vocational Skills Competition. It won three second prizes, 16 third prizes and 15 excellent prizes in the Vocational Skills Competition for Secondary Vocational Students in the Autonomous Region. In 2016, the Department of Physical Education sent teams to participate in the Youth Championships in the whole region, the Second Boxing Competition in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Second International Nadam and other events. It won nine gold medals, four silver medals, seven bronze medals and 22 other rankings.
