Guangxi New Development Transportation Group announced on Oct 25 that the Laibin-Du'an Expressway has completed an investment of 7.31 billion yuan ($1 billion) this year, accounting for 90.2 percent of the annual investment plan. The accumulative completed investment is about 18.15 billion yuan, 85.4 percent of the estimated 21.25 billion yuan.
The Laibin-Du'an Expressway project is the last section of the Hezhou-Bama Expressway under construction. The main line of the project is 134 kilometers long, adopting the standard of a two-way four lane expressway, with a design speed of 100km per hour and a subgrade width of 26 meters. It passes through Jingsheng township, Longwan township, and Chengjiang township of Hechi's Du'an Yao autonomous county, with a total length of about 28 km, as well as a bridge and tunnel ratio of 91 percent.
To date, the subgrade earthwork and roadbed repair of this section have been completed, while 53 bridges and 17 tunnels along the whole line have been completed. In addition, 82.4 percent, 65 percent, and 90 percent of the traffic safety works, electromechanical works, as well as greening works have been completed respectively.
After the Laibin-Du'an Expressway is completed and opened to traffic, the travel time between Du'an Yao autonomous county and Xincheng county will be shortened to one hour, which is of great significance for improving the expressway network in central Guangxi and accelerating the interconnection between regions.
