The harvest season of golden pomfrets, one of the most economically lucrative marine fish in the Fangchenggang sea area, has now arrived and breeding enterprises are busy heading out to sea for a good catch.
In recent years, Fangcheng district of Fangchenggang has been gradually expanding the breeding scale of marine fish and has developed from an offshore breeding to a deep-sea cage culture industry.
Currently, Fangcheng district has built 674 deep sea cages with perimeters over 90 meters and these cages are expected to generate 450 million yuan ($62 million) annually.
The district noted that it will give full play to its marine resources to support the local marine economy, which can also bring more income to local fishermen.
