On July 31, 2015, Beijing officially won the bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, putting the Chinese capital on the road to become the only city to host both the Summer and Winter Games in the 120-year-plus history of the modern Olympics.
Thanks to the successful hosting of the Winter Games, Beijing became the world's first "dual-Olympic city", and displayed its strength and vitality to the world.
In a series of pictures taken over a span of eight years, photographers Cui Jun and Hu Jinxi documented the city's tremendous efforts to stage a "green, inclusive, open and clean" Winter Games.
