Key projects benefit from friendly business environment in SND

The friendly business environment in Suzhou New District, East China's Jiangsu province is offering local enterprises tangible results, local media outlets reported.

Statistics show that in the first three quarters of this year, SND attracted 152 key projects with investments totaling 34.8 billion yuan ($4.83 billion). Investment in fixed assets is expected to grow by 6 percent and industrial investment to grow by 7 percent.

Eleven of the projects with a combined investment of over 8 billion yuan have started construction recently, including the headquarters of Microread, a biopharmaceutical enterprise which is expected to meet the genetic testing needs of over 20 million people from both home and abroad every year.

Moreover, construction has started on 65 key projects with investments totaling 61.39 billion yuan from January to September. Shishan biopharmaceutical innovation base has received 2.13 billion yuan in investment for the research and manufacture of in vitro diagnostic reagents, new targeted tumor drugs, and thyroid tumor molecular diagnosis and reagents.

Twenty-six key projects with investments totaling 12.86 billion yuan will finish construction within the year. Immune-Path Biotech, an innovative biotechnology company, will be able to produce an annual 60 million to 120 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines after its first-phase project is completed.
