Southwest China's Guizhou province has taken high-quality development as the primary task this year, and promoted the rapid development of its 10 main industries to ensure the multiplication of industrial development.
The 10 main industries are Maotai-flavor baijiu, modern energy, modern chemical engineering, basic materials, big data and electronic information, new energy vehicles and battery materials, aerospace and equipment manufacturing, new building materials, organic food, and medicine.
Guizhou continues to promote the transformation and upgrading of advantageous industries such as Maotai-flavor baijiu, seizes the opportunities brought by emerging industries such as new energy batteries and big data, and accelerates the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries such as basic materials and modern chemical engineering.
In the first half of this year, the total output value of Guizhou's 10 main industries above a designated size reached 575.29 billion yuan ($82.64 billion), which increased by 17.1 percent year-on-year.
Guizhou has 76.61 billion metric tons of coal resources, ranking fifth in China. With the transformation and upgrading, Guizhou's coal industry continues to improve both quantity and quality.
Relying on the unique environment and resources, Guizhou is making great efforts to develop the baijiu industry led by Maotai-flavor baijiu, and aims to build a world Maotai-flavor baijiu industry cluster along the Chishui River.
In the first half of this year, Guizhou's Maotai-flavor baijiu industry above a designated size saw 55.2 percent of year-on-year increase in output value and 48.5 percent of year-on-year increase in added value.
Guizhou aims to produce 600 million liters of baijiu annually by 2025, and the total output value of baijiu reach 300 billion yuan.
Guizhou has also focused on its core phosphorus chemical industry production bases and new energy battery industry clusters to boost the rapid development of new energy vehicles and battery materials.
Statistics show that in the first half of this year, Guizhou's output value of new energy vehicle and battery material industries above a designated size increased by 55.6 percent year-on-year, ranking first among the 10 main industries.
