Oct 23: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Oct 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 207 new cases of confirmed infections (52 imported cases, 11 in Fujian province, 9 in Guangdong province, 5 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 7 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Fujian province; 155 indigenous cases, 32 in Guangdong province, 26 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 24 in Shanxi province, 16 in Shaanxi province, 10 in Hunan province, 8 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 7 in Beijing municipality, 7 in Zhejiang province, 6 in Henan province, 5 in Anhui province, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Tibet autonomous region, including 15 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 5 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Anhui province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Shaanxi province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Oct 22, 319 patients were released from hospital after being cured (47 imported cases; 272 indigenous cases, 47 in Guangdong province, 42 in Sichuan province, 39 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 28 in Chongqing municipality, 24 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 15 in Henan province, 14 in Yunnan province, 12 in Shanxi province, 12 in Shaanxi province, 7 in Beijing municipality, 7 in Liaoning province, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Hunan province, 3 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Guizhou province, 2 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region). 66,888 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained the same.

As of 24:00 on Oct 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 25,381 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 24,752 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 629 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 22, the National Health Commission had received reports of 257,362 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 248,262 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 3,874 confirmed cases (including 13 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 7,181,995 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 459,974 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 791 new asymptomatic cases (108 imported cases; 683 indigenous cases, 123 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 77 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 59 in Guangdong province, 58 in Hunan province, 52 in Shaanxi province, 50 in Tianjin municipality, 39 in Hubei province, 28 in Sichuan province, 24 in Shandong province, 23 in Yunnan province, 19 in Qinghai province, 18 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 17 in Henan province, 16 in Shanxi province, 16 in Zhejiang province, 13 in Jiangsu province, 12 in Heilongjiang province, 12 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Anhui province, 5 in Hebei province, 5 in Gansu province, 5 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 4 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Guizhou province).

On Oct 22, 949 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (114 imported cases; 835 indigenous cases, 270 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 70 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 53 in Yunnan province, 48 in Sichuan province, 47 in Shanghai municipality, 43 in Tibet autonomous region, 31 in Jiangsu province, 30 in Chongqing municipality, 28 in Hubei province, 27 in Guangdong province, 26 in Henan province, 24 in Shaanxi province, 22 in Heilongjiang province, 19 in Anhui province, 18 in Gansu province, 14 in Shanxi province, 13 in Tianjin municipality, 8 in Liaoning province, 7 in Shandong province, 7 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 6 in Hebei province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Guizhou province, 5 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 4 in Hunan province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Jiangxi province). 22 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 7 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 22, 15,229 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 1,036 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 22, 7,844,160 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 428,538 in Hong Kong (10,322 had died and 89,549 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 7,414,829 in Taiwan (12,258 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
