On Oct 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 247 new cases of confirmed infections (43 imported cases, 16 in Fujian province, 12 in Guangdong province, 7 in Sichuan province, 3 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 10 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Sichuan province, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Shandong province; 204 indigenous cases, 50 in Guangdong province, 34 in Beijing municipality, 24 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 22 in Shanxi province, 20 in Shaanxi province, 11 in Zhejiang province, 10 in Henan province, 7 in Hunan province, 6 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 5 in Sichuan province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Guizhou province, 2 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 14 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Sichuan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Guangdong province, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Shaanxi province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Oct 18, 348 patients were released from hospital after being cured (44 imported cases; 304 indigenous cases, 120 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 43 in Guangdong province, 32 in Sichuan province, 24 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 13 in Jiangsu province, 12 in Yunnan province, 11 in Shanxi province, 10 in Chongqing municipality, 7 in Guizhou province, 6 in Heilongjiang province, 5 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 4 in Henan province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Liaoning province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Shaanxi province). 57,067 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Oct 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 25,170 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 24,535 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 635 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 18, the National Health Commission had received reports of 256,515 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 246,977 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 4,312 confirmed cases (including 14 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 6,936,046 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 468,924 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 749 new asymptomatic cases (119 imported cases; 630 indigenous cases, 116 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 52 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 48 in Guangdong province, 42 in Hunan province, 40 in Shaanxi province, 39 in Hubei province, 37 in Zhejiang province, 31 in Sichuan province, 30 in Yunnan province, 25 in Chongqing municipality, 23 in Shanxi province, 22 in Jiangsu province, 21 in Henan province, 18 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 14 in Shanghai municipality, 12 in Shandong province, 9 in Tianjin municipality, 8 in Beijing municipality, 8 in Hebei province, 7 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 6 in Guizhou province, 6 in Tibet autonomous region, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Anhui province, 3 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Gansu province and 1 in Jilin province).

On Oct 18, 728 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (77 imported cases; 651 indigenous cases, 141 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 118 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 43 in Guizhou province, 36 in Gansu province, 33 in Tianjin municipality, 26 in Hubei province, 22 in Sichuan province, 21 in Shanghai municipality, 20 in Jiangsu province, 20 in Anhui province, 20 in Yunnan province, 18 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 17 in Guangdong province, 16 in Henan province, 14 in Tibet autonomous region, 14 in Shaanxi province, 13 in Hunan province, 12 in Heilongjiang province, 10 in Shandong province, 8 in Shanxi province, 8 in Chongqing municipality, 6 in Hebei province, 6 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Jilin province, 2 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region). 24 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 10 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 18, 15,680 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 965 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 18, 7,684,298 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 425,913 in Hong Kong (10,285 had died and 88,586 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 7,257,592 in Taiwan (11,994 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
