Wang Xudong, director of the Palace Museum, stressed the important role of the museum in promoting exchanges among different civilizations in an official interview. He said the museum should be recognized as an international first-class museum, an example of world cultural heritage preservation, a leader of culture and tourism integration, and a “reception room” for cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world.
