In the digital age, "informatization and digitization" has become the cornerstone of the city's digital development and the road for the city's high-quality and leap-forward development, said Liu Hongbing, Party secretary of Zhanjiang.

"The city will focus on building a new system of digital infrastructure to explore paths for industrial transformation. It needs to cultivate new momentum for the digital economy and focus on digital governance to improve social governance capabilities."

According to the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Reform and Construction of Zhanjiang's Digital Government and the Implementation Plan for the Construction of Zhanjiang's New Smart City (2021-25), Zhanjiang will optimize government service and innovate in models through digital transformation.
