SND strives to become hub of overseas returnees

Overseas returnees play an important role in driving economic development, scientific and technological innovation, and social progress.

Since the beginning of this year, Suzhou New District has been focusing on the introduction, cultivation and employment of returned talent, and has created an integrated service process to develop itself into "a new hub for returnees and a demonstration zone for innovation and entrepreneurship".

As friendly policies are necessary for attracting overseas returnees, SND has rolled out 18 specific policies, established the overseas returnee service center, and appointed the first group of 12 overseas returnee promoters.

Statistics show that SND has so far gathered more than 4,000 overseas returnees, who are mainly engaged in fields such as medical devices, integrated circuits, green and low-carbon development, digital economy, and photonic science.

Meanwhile, more and more overseas talent is coming to the district. In this year's Suzhou International Elite Venture Week, the sub-events held in SND have attracted more than 600 overseas returnees, and more than 360 innovation and entrepreneurship projects have been recorded and registered in the relevant database.
