On Oct 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 273 new cases of confirmed infections (50 imported cases, 18 in Guangdong province, 9 in Fujian province, 7 in Shandong province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Guangdong province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Sichuan province; 223 indigenous cases, 64 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 34 in Guangdong province, 32 in Sichuan province, 23 in Yunnan province, 22 in Jiangsu province, 10 in Chongqing municipality, 7 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 6 in Shanxi province, 5 in Tibet autonomous region, 5 in Shaanxi province, 4 in Hunan province, 3 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Henan province, including 61 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 34 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 13 in Sichuan province, 6 in Guangdong province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Shaanxi province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Oct 4, 367 patients were released from hospital after being cured (64 imported cases; 303 indigenous cases, 139 in Hainan province, 60 in Guizhou province, 55 in Sichuan province, 10 in Heilongjiang province, 8 in Guangdong province, 8 in Tibet autonomous region, 8 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Henan province and 1 in Zhejiang province). 21,524 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Oct 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 24,366 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 23,751 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 615 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 4, the National Health Commission had received reports of 251,620 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 243,518 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,876 confirmed cases (including 18 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 6,135,343 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 195,791 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 861 new asymptomatic cases (114 imported cases; 747 indigenous cases, 243 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 91 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 57 in Tianjin municipality, 50 in Yunnan province, 37 in Tibet autonomous region, 34 in Sichuan province, 29 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 24 in Guangdong province, 18 in Jiangsu province, 18 in Hubei province, 17 in Guizhou province, 17 in Shaanxi province, 14 in Zhejiang province, 14 in Henan province, 14 in Chongqing municipality, 13 in Gansu province, 12 in Hebei province, 10 in Hunan province, 7 in Shanxi province, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Shandong province, 5 in Heilongjiang province, 4 in Anhui province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Jilin province).

On Oct 4, 1,116 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (90 imported cases; 1,026 indigenous cases, 407 in Hainan province, 172 in Guizhou province, 108 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 99 in Heilongjiang province, 79 in Tibet autonomous region, 67 in Sichuan province, 22 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 21 in Tianjin municipality, 13 in Shandong province, 5 in Jiangxi province, 4 in Liaoning province, 4 in Gansu province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Hubei province, 3 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Qinghai province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in Yunnan province). 67 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 4, 8,872 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 763 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 4, 7,047,983 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 416,548 in Hong Kong (10,184 had died and 85,660 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 6,630,642 in Taiwan (11,232 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
