Oct 4: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Oct 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 307 new cases of confirmed infections (57 imported cases, 19 in Guangdong province, 11 in Fujian province, 9 in Beijing municipality, 5 in Jiangsu province, 5 in Sichuan province, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Shandong province and 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, including 11 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Guangdong province, 3 in Sichuan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Shandong province; 250 indigenous cases, 151 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 27 in Guangdong province, 21 in Sichuan province, 14 in Yunnan province, 7 in Jiangsu province, 6 in Hunan province, 6 in Tibet autonomous region, 5 in Shanxi province, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 23 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 9 in Sichuan province, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Hunan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Guangdong province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Shaanxi province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Oct 3, 266 patients were released from hospital after being cured (51 imported cases; 215 indigenous cases, 60 in Sichuan province, 55 in Hainan province, 53 in Guizhou province, 11 in Heilongjiang province, 7 in Tibet autonomous region, 7 in Qinghai province, 4 in Guangdong province, 4 in Chongqing municipality, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Henan province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 16,810 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Oct 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 24,316 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 23,687 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 629 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 3, the National Health Commission had received reports of 251,347 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 243,151 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,970 confirmed cases (including 20 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 6,104,408 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 186,536 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 731 new asymptomatic cases (105 imported cases; 626 indigenous cases, 226 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 67 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 47 in Tibet autonomous region, 38 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 30 in Guizhou province, 27 in Yunnan province, 26 in Sichuan province, 20 in Zhejiang province, 18 in Tianjin municipality, 16 in Guangdong province, 14 in Shaanxi province, 14 in Gansu province, 12 in Shanxi province, 12 in Henan province, 9 in Hubei province, 8 in Jiangsu province, 6 in Hebei province, 6 in Shandong province, 5 in Anhui province, 5 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Chongqing municipality, 4 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Hunan province, 2 in Hainan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Fujian province).

On Oct 3, 1,068 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (100 imported cases; 968 indigenous cases, 209 in Guizhou province, 180 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 170 in Heilongjiang province, 89 in Hainan province, 71 in Tibet autonomous region, 62 in Qinghai province, 57 in Sichuan province, 18 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 16 in Tianjin municipality, 15 in Hubei province, 14 in Shaanxi province, 13 in Shandong province, 9 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 8 in Liaoning province, 8 in Jiangxi province, 6 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Jilin province, 5 in Yunnan province, 4 in Henan province, 3 in Hebei province, 3 in Gansu province, 2 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Guangdong province). 34 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 11 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 3, 9,194 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 745 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 3, 6,997,963 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 416,053 in Hong Kong (10,176 had died and 85,457 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 6,581,117 in Taiwan (11,201 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
