Oct 1: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 172 new cases of confirmed infections (66 imported cases, 21 in Shanghai municipality, 11 in Guangdong province, 9 in Fujian province, 7 in Jiangsu province, 6 in Sichuan province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Zhejiang province, including 8 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Fujian province; 106 indigenous cases, 22 in Guangdong province, 20 in Sichuan province, 17 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Shanxi province, 5 in Shandong province, 5 in Yunnan province, 5 in Tibet autonomous region, 4 in Heilongjiang province, 4 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Guizhou province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Fujian province, including 18 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 7 in Sichuan province, 5 in Guangdong province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Shandong province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 30, 232 patients were released from hospital after being cured (68 imported cases; 164 indigenous cases, 56 in Sichuan province, 38 in Guizhou province, 15 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 15 in Tibet autonomous region, 14 in Hainan province, 5 in Shandong province, 5 in Guangdong province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Yunnan province, 1 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region). 12,752 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 5.

As of 24:00 on Sept 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 24,145 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 23,537 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 608 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 30, the National Health Commission had received reports of 250,621 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 242,486 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,909 confirmed cases (including 31 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 6,036,936 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 168,484 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 648 new asymptomatic cases (99 imported cases; 549 indigenous cases, 166 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 83 in Guizhou province, 59 in Tibet autonomous region, 34 in Sichuan province, 30 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 28 in Heilongjiang province, 24 in Tianjin municipality, 21 in Guangdong province, 18 in Shandong province, 17 in Henan province, 16 in Yunnan province, 13 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 6 in Shanxi province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Hunan province, 4 in Gansu province, 3 in Hebei province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Anhui province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Qinghai province).

On Sept 30, 679 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (89 imported cases; 590 indigenous cases, 176 in Guizhou province, 98 in Tibet autonomous region, 50 in Sichuan province, 40 in Heilongjiang province, 39 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 37 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 24 in Shandong province, 21 in Jiangxi province, 17 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 15 in Hainan province, 15 in Gansu province, 10 in Hubei province, 8 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 7 in Tianjin municipality, 7 in Henan province, 7 in Shaanxi province, 5 in Hebei province, 3 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Chongqing municipality). 26 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 8 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 30, 10,482 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 712 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 30, 6,876,848 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 414,655 in Hong Kong (10,161 had died and 84,783 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 6,461,400 in Taiwan (11,053 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
