Sept 30: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 156 new cases of confirmed infections (59 imported cases, 15 in Guangdong province, 14 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Fujian province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 5 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Sichuan province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Heilongjiang province and 2 in Shandong province, including 10 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Shandong province; 97 indigenous cases, 17 in Guizhou province, 16 in Guangdong province, 13 in Heilongjiang province, 11 in Tianjin municipality, 8 in Sichuan province, 6 in Yunnan province, 6 in Tibet autonomous region, 4 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Shanxi province, 3 in Fujian province, 3 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 2 in Hebei province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 10 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 2 in Sichuan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Guizhou province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 29, 184 patients were released from hospital after being cured (81 imported cases; 103 indigenous cases, 31 in Guizhou province, 22 in Sichuan province, 13 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Guangdong province, 6 in Tibet autonomous region, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Shandong province, 3 in Jiangxi province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Hainan province and 1 in Chongqing municipality). 16,828 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 5.

As of 24:00 on Sept 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 24,079 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 23,469 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 610 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 250,449 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 242,254 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,969 confirmed cases (including 36 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 6,014,215 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 158,591 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 711 new asymptomatic cases (86 imported cases; 625 indigenous cases, 176 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 80 in Guizhou province, 66 in Tibet autonomous region, 61 in Tianjin municipality, 54 in Heilongjiang province, 28 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 25 in Yunnan province, 19 in Henan province, 17 in Sichuan province, 15 in Guangdong province, 15 in Shaanxi province, 9 in Hebei province, 9 in Shandong province, 9 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 7 in Zhejiang province, 7 in Anhui province, 7 in Gansu province, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Hubei province, 4 in Qinghai province, 2 in Hunan province and 1 in Jiangxi province).

On Sept 29, 972 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (81 imported cases; 891 indigenous cases, 296 in Tibet autonomous region, 227 in Guizhou province, 85 in Jiangxi province, 43 in Sichuan province, 41 in Liaoning province, 27 in Heilongjiang province, 23 in Shandong province, 22 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 21 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 16 in Hubei province, 15 in Hainan province, 15 in Shaanxi province, 15 in Qinghai province, 14 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 9 in Tianjin municipality, 5 in Jilin province, 5 in Gansu province, 4 in Henan province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Chongqing municipality). 20 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 10 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 29, 10,539 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 710 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 29, 6,832,910 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 414,176 in Hong Kong (10,153 had died and 84,533 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 6,417,941 in Taiwan (11,003 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
