Sept 29: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 170 new cases of confirmed infections (64 imported cases, 21 in Guangdong province, 13 in Shanghai municipality, 10 in Fujian province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 5 in Shandong province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Henan province, including 14 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 7 in Guangdong province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Sichuan province; 106 indigenous cases, 38 in Guizhou province, 18 in Guangdong province, 13 in Tianjin municipality, 9 in Heilongjiang province, 6 in Yunnan province, 5 in Sichuan province, 5 in Tibet autonomous region, 3 in Shanxi province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 14 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Sichuan province, 4 in Guizhou province, 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Henan province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 28, 164 patients were released from hospital after being cured (45 imported cases; 119 indigenous cases, 29 in Sichuan province, 28 in Guizhou province, 23 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 9 in Guangdong province, 7 in Tibet autonomous region, 5 in Beijing municipality, 5 in Shandong province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Hainan province, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Yunnan province). 11,769 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Sept 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 24,020 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 23,388 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 632 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 28, the National Health Commission had received reports of 250,293 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 242,070 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,997 confirmed cases (including 41 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,993,958 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 155,222 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 629 new asymptomatic cases (103 imported cases; 526 indigenous cases, 189 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 85 in Tibet autonomous region, 73 in Heilongjiang province, 58 in Guizhou province, 26 in Tianjin municipality, 20 in Yunnan province, 15 in Sichuan province, 10 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 6 in Hubei province, 5 in Jiangsu province, 5 in Anhui province, 5 in Guangdong province, 4 in Jiangxi province, 4 in Henan province, 4 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Shanxi province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Gansu province).

On Sept 28, 885 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (105 imported cases; 780 indigenous cases, 291 in Tibet autonomous region, 202 in Guizhou province, 58 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 28 in Jiangxi province, 28 in Shandong province, 23 in Hubei province, 23 in Sichuan province, 22 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 20 in Liaoning province, 19 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 14 in Gansu province, 11 in Heilongjiang province, 10 in Shaanxi province, 6 in Jilin province, 5 in Tianjin municipality, 5 in Hebei province, 4 in Henan province, 4 in Hainan province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Yunnan province). 28 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 14 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 28, 10,820 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 715 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 28, 6,787,570 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 413,656 in Hong Kong (10,148 had died and 84,270 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 6,373,121 in Taiwan (10,950 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
