Sept 28: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 194 new cases of confirmed infections (75 imported cases, 19 in Fujian province, 15 in Guangdong province, 14 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Jiangsu province, 6 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 13 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 5 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Guangdong province, 3 in Sichuan province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Jiangsu province; 119 indigenous cases, 56 in Guizhou province, 13 in Sichuan province, 13 in Tibet autonomous region, 8 in Tianjin municipality, 7 in Shaanxi province, 5 in Heilongjiang province, 4 in Guangdong province, 4 in Yunnan province, 4 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 10 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Sichuan province, 2 in Guizhou province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Guangdong province, 1 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Qinghai province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 27, 169 patients were released from hospital after being cured (47 imported cases; 122 indigenous cases, 39 in Sichuan province, 37 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 11 in Tibet autonomous region, 6 in Shandong province, 6 in Guizhou province, 4 in Hainan province, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Guangdong province, 3 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Hubei province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 10,636 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Sept 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 23,956 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 23,343 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 613 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 27, the National Health Commission had received reports of 250,123 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 241,906 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,991 confirmed cases (including 40 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,972,457 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 145,548 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 711 new asymptomatic cases (86 imported cases; 625 indigenous cases, 205 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 132 in Tibet autonomous region, 82 in Heilongjiang province, 73 in Guizhou province, 47 in Tianjin municipality, 20 in Sichuan province, 12 in Hubei province, 10 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 8 in Yunnan province, 6 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Henan province, 5 in Qinghai province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Jiangxi province, 4 in Shandong province, 3 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Anhui province and 1 in Gansu province).

On Sept 27, 736 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (80 imported cases; 656 indigenous cases, 202 in Tibet autonomous region, 151 in Guizhou province, 64 in Hubei province, 42 in Sichuan province, 38 in Shandong province, 24 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 22 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 14 in Liaoning province, 13 in Heilongjiang province, 12 in Jiangxi province, 11 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 10 in Gansu province, 9 in Tianjin municipality, 9 in Qinghai province, 7 in Jilin province, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Fujian province, 4 in Guangdong province, 4 in Hainan province, 4 in Shaanxi province, 4 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 3 in Hebei province and 1 in Yunnan province). 23 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 13 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 27, 11,104 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 731 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 27, 6,738,487 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 413,116 in Hong Kong (10,134 had died and 83,950 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 6,324,578 in Taiwan (10,912 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
