Sept 27: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 245 new cases of confirmed infections (72 imported cases, 18 in Shanghai municipality, 14 in Guangdong province, 13 in Fujian province, 12 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Liaoning province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Hubei province, including 12 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Shandong province; 173 indigenous cases, 58 in Sichuan province, 44 in Guizhou province, 21 in Heilongjiang province, 12 in Guangdong province, 11 in Tibet autonomous region, 9 in Yunnan province, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, including 32 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 23 in Sichuan province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Guizhou province, 1 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Qinghai province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 26, 241 patients were released from hospital after being cured (45 imported cases; 196 indigenous cases, 102 in Sichuan province, 28 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 16 in Guangdong province, 13 in Guizhou province, 7 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Shaanxi province, 4 in Shandong province, 4 in Hainan province, 4 in Tibet autonomous region, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Gansu province and 1 in Qinghai province). 16,289 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Sept 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 23,881 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 23,296 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 585 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 26, the National Health Commission had received reports of 249,929 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 241,737 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,966 confirmed cases (including 38 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,955,040 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 138,983 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 723 new asymptomatic cases (87 imported cases; 636 indigenous cases, 233 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 115 in Heilongjiang province, 83 in Tibet autonomous region, 81 in Guizhou province, 38 in Tianjin municipality, 21 in Sichuan province, 20 in Yunnan province, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 7 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 5 in Jiangxi province, 5 in Guangdong province, 5 in Qinghai province, 3 in Hebei province, 3 in Gansu province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Shaanxi province).

On Sept 26, 860 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (97 imported cases; 763 indigenous cases, 246 in Tibet autonomous region, 105 in Guizhou province, 88 in Sichuan province, 42 in Shandong province, 40 in Jiangxi province, 40 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 27 in Liaoning province, 27 in Hubei province, 22 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 20 in Heilongjiang province, 16 in Tianjin municipality, 14 in Gansu province, 13 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 11 in Hebei province, 8 in Jilin province, 8 in Guangdong province, 8 in Hainan province, 8 in Shaanxi province, 7 in Henan province, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Qinghai province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Yunnan province and 1 in Fujian province). 44 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 12 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 26, 11,152 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 738 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 26, 6,692,250 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 412,663 in Hong Kong (10,128 had died and 83,716 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 6,278,794 in Taiwan (10,884 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
