Sept 25: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 217 new cases of confirmed infections (58 imported cases, 12 in Guangdong province, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Fujian province, 7 in Beijing municipality, 6 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 6 in Sichuan province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 9 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Shandong province; 159 indigenous cases, 86 in Guizhou province, 40 in Sichuan province, 11 in Heilongjiang province, 8 in Tibet autonomous region, 6 in Guangdong province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, including 19 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 11 in Sichuan province, 4 in Guizhou province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 24, 310 patients were released from hospital after being cured (69 imported cases; 241 indigenous cases, 100 in Sichuan province, 32 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 25 in Tibet autonomous region, 24 in Beijing municipality, 18 in Guangdong province, 13 in Guizhou province, 6 in Heilongjiang province, 5 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Jilin province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Hainan province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Yunnan province). 19,290 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 8.

As of 24:00 on Sept 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 23,749 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 23,197 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 552 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 24, the National Health Commission had received reports of 249,389 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 241,216 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,947 confirmed cases (including 36 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,918,762 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 131,631 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 719 new asymptomatic cases (118 imported cases; 601 indigenous cases, 171 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 163 in Heilongjiang province, 103 in Tibet autonomous region, 94 in Guizhou province, 26 in Sichuan province, 9 in Tianjin municipality, 9 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 5 in Hebei province, 4 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Anhui province, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Gansu province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Yunnan province).

On Sept 24, 1,016 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (84 imported cases; 932 indigenous cases, 281 in Tibet autonomous region, 192 in Guizhou province, 72 in Sichuan province, 64 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 56 in Heilongjiang province, 52 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 46 in Liaoning province, 32 in Shandong province, 28 in Hubei province, 24 in Jiangxi province, 17 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 10 in Tianjin municipality, 10 in Guangdong province, 9 in Henan province, 8 in Jilin province, 8 in Hainan province, 5 in Gansu province, 5 in Qinghai province, 4 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Fujian province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region). 28 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 9 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 24, 12,067 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 790 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 24, 6,623,506 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 411,620 in Hong Kong (10,106 had died and 83,269 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 6,211,093 in Taiwan (10,794 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
