Sept 23: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 175 new cases of confirmed infections (54 imported cases, 15 in Shanghai municipality, 14 in Guangdong province, 10 in Fujian province, 7 in Yunnan province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Sichuan province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Liaoning province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Fujian province; 121 indigenous cases, 43 in Sichuan province, 43 in Guizhou province, 15 in Heilongjiang province, 9 in Tibet autonomous region, 4 in Hunan province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Yunnan province and 1 in Tianjin municipality, including 21 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 13 in Sichuan province, 6 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Guizhou province and 1 in Yunnan province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 22, 300 patients were released from hospital after being cured (67 imported cases; 233 indigenous cases, 129 in Sichuan province, 29 in Guangdong province, 19 in Tibet autonomous region, 10 in Beijing municipality, 10 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 9 in Hainan province, 5 in Shandong province, 4 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Liaoning province, 2 in Shanxi province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Guizhou province, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Qinghai province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 24,094 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 4.

As of 24:00 on Sept 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 23,632 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 23,068 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 564 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 22, the National Health Commission had received reports of 248,984 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 240,700 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 3,058 confirmed cases (including 31 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,881,896 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 143,014 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 726 new asymptomatic cases (99 imported cases; 627 indigenous cases, 221 in Heilongjiang province, 131 in Tibet autonomous region, 103 in Guizhou province, 59 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 30 in Sichuan province, 16 in Hubei province, 12 in Shandong province, 10 in Tianjin municipality, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 8 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 7 in Hebei province, 4 in Guangdong province, 4 in Yunnan province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Gansu province and 1 in Qinghai province).

On Sept 22, 1,188 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (90 imported cases; 1,098 indigenous cases, 365 in Tibet autonomous region, 123 in Heilongjiang province, 105 in Guizhou province, 88 in Sichuan province, 72 in Liaoning province, 72 in Jiangxi province, 68 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 42 in Shandong province, 24 in Hubei province, 22 in Gansu province, 19 in Jilin province, 17 in Guangdong province, 17 in Hainan province, 14 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Shaanxi province, 7 in Tianjin municipality, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Henan province, 5 in Qinghai province, 3 in Hebei province, 3 in Fujian province and 2 in Yunnan province). 25 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 22, 14,289 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 771 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 22, 6,543,082 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 409,495 in Hong Kong (9,934 had died and 82,270 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 6,132,794 in Taiwan (10,702 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
