Located in Liupanshui, Southwest China’s Guizhou province, Tuole village is home to the best-preserved ancient ginkgo trees with the highest planting density. With more than 1,200 ginkgo trees of advanced age, it is known as “the hometown of the oldest ginkgo trees in the world”. The oldest tree in the village, whose trunk is dozens of meters high, dates back more than 1,000 years,.

In late autumn, the village is transformed into a haven for ginkgo trees. In a variety of shapes and sizes they grow everywhere, beautifully complementing nearby cottages, mountains, bridges, and streams. In November 2018, Tuole was designated a national ecological culture village by the China Eco-Culture Association.
