Sept 20: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 152 new cases of confirmed infections (48 imported cases, 15 in Guangdong province, 8 in Beijing municipality, 7 in Fujian province, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Sichuan province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 7 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Henan province; 104 indigenous cases, 41 in Guizhou province, 33 in Sichuan province, 16 in Tibet autonomous region, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 35 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 18 in Guizhou province, 9 in Sichuan province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Hunan province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 19, 340 patients were released from hospital after being cured (47 imported cases; 293 indigenous cases, 89 in Hainan province, 72 in Sichuan province, 37 in Guangdong province, 12 in Shandong province, 12 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 11 in Heilongjiang province, 10 in Tibet autonomous region, 7 in Beijing municipality, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Henan province, 4 in Liaoning province, 4 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Shanxi province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Guizhou province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Hubei province, 1 in Qinghai province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 20,574 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 5.

As of 24:00 on Sept 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 23,484 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,907 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 577 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 19, the National Health Commission had received reports of 248,478 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 239,794 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 3,458 confirmed cases (including 40 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,840,744 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 171,316 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 637 new asymptomatic cases (112 imported cases; 525 indigenous cases, 208 in Guizhou province, 160 in Tibet autonomous region, 44 in Heilongjiang province, 37 in Sichuan province, 15 in Tianjin municipality, 12 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 11 in Hubei province, 7 in Henan province, 7 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Hainan province, 4 in Qinghai province, 3 in Hebei province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Gansu province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Guangdong province).

On Sept 19, 1,564 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (102 imported cases; 1,462 indigenous cases, 680 in Tibet autonomous region, 95 in Jiangxi province, 84 in Liaoning province, 73 in Hainan province, 63 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 58 in Henan province, 46 in Shandong province, 45 in Sichuan province, 43 in Qinghai province, 41 in Heilongjiang province, 38 in Guizhou province, 37 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 33 in Hebei province, 22 in Guangdong province, 20 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 17 in Tianjin municipality, 17 in Jilin province, 15 in Hubei province, 13 in Gansu province, 7 in Shaanxi province, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Fujian province, 3 in Anhui province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Shanxi province and 1 in Shanghai municipality). 42 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 7 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 19, 17,018 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 777 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 19, 6,407,183 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 407,530 in Hong Kong (9,901 had died and 81,135 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,998,860 in Taiwan (10,579 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
