Sept 19: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 147 new cases of confirmed infections (55 imported cases, 11 in Shanghai municipality, 11 in Guangdong province, 10 in Fujian province, 6 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Sichuan province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Sichuan province; 92 indigenous cases, 48 in Sichuan province, 12 in Guizhou province, 11 in Tibet autonomous region, 8 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Shandong province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Guangdong province, 1 in Hainan province and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 34 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 27 in Sichuan province, 4 in Shandong province, 2 in Guizhou province and 1 in Chongqing municipality), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 18, 366 patients were released from hospital after being cured (51 imported cases; 315 indigenous cases, 93 in Tibet autonomous region, 58 in Sichuan province, 54 in Guangdong province, 45 in Hainan province, 21 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 6 in Henan province, 5 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Guizhou province, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Jiangxi province, 3 in Shandong province, 3 in Hunan province, 2 in Jilin province, 2 in Yunnan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in Qinghai province). 23,081 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 5.

As of 24:00 on Sept 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 23,436 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,860 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 576 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 18, the National Health Commission had received reports of 248,326 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 239,454 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 3,646 confirmed cases (including 35 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,829,059 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 180,297 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 843 new asymptomatic cases (128 imported cases; 715 indigenous cases, 352 in Guizhou province, 187 in Tibet autonomous region, 47 in Sichuan province, 29 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 19 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 18 in Tianjin municipality, 11 in Heilongjiang province, 11 in Hainan province, 5 in Hebei province, 5 in Shandong province, 5 in Henan province, 4 in Jiangxi province, 4 in Yunnan province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Gansu province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Chongqing municipality).

On Sept 18, 1,296 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (72 imported cases; 1,224 indigenous cases, 522 in Tibet autonomous region, 119 in Hainan province, 74 in Heilongjiang province, 66 in Liaoning province, 61 in Jiangxi province, 54 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 38 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 36 in Shandong province, 35 in Sichuan province, 32 in Qinghai province, 31 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 27 in Guizhou province, 25 in Gansu province, 21 in Jilin province, 20 in Guangdong province, 19 in Henan province, 15 in Hubei province, 10 in Hebei province, 6 in Shaanxi province, 5 in Anhui province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Fujian province). 40 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 18, 17,987 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 774 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 18, 6,378,066 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 406,835 in Hong Kong (9,891 had died and 80,922 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,970,438 in Taiwan (10,548 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
