The overseas exhibition of the World Design Cities Conference 2022 made its debut in Galerie Joseph in downtown Paris, France on Thursday, aiming to bring Shanghai's image as a "city of design" to the world.
Hosted by Shanghai International Design Week and supported by the Shanghai municipal government, Paris Design Week, and IP SHANGHAI, the exhibition consists of three parts — Classic and Inheritance, Modern and International, and Future and Development.
Apart from a visual image art exhibition, several Shanghai brands covering cosmetics and makeup, fashion, technology, and pets are displayed as well as the Paris-Saclay Paysages exhibition which showcases the development of French cities in the past decade.
The opening of the exhibition was also held in the metaverse.
"As a native Shanghainese, I am honoured to be here to witness the twin city exhibition of Shanghai and Paris. Both are unique and charming cities, attracting and nurturing design forces from around the world, inheriting the dialogue between development, and blending the eastern and western cultures," said Jiang Qiong'er, creative consultant of the Paris exhibition.
