Sept 15: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 167 new cases of confirmed infections (41 imported cases, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Guangdong province, 7 in Yunnan province, 6 in Fujian province, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Liaoning province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Shandong province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Sichuan province; 126 indigenous cases, 84 in Sichuan province, 9 in Tibet autonomous region, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Guangdong province, 5 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Guizhou province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 36 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 27 in Sichuan province, 5 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Tibet autonomous region), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 14, 560 patients were released from hospital after being cured (54 imported cases; 506 indigenous cases, 293 in Hainan province, 58 in Sichuan province, 51 in Guangdong province, 28 in Tibet autonomous region, 15 in Heilongjiang province, 10 in Tianjin municipality, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 6 in Liaoning province, 6 in Henan province, 5 in Shaanxi province, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Hunan province, 3 in Jiangxi province, 3 in Yunnan province, 3 in Gansu province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Guizhou province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 24,736 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Sept 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 23,210 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,660 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 550 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 14, the National Health Commission had received reports of 247,724 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 237,614 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 4,884 confirmed cases (including 34 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,769,816 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 232,617 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 916 new asymptomatic cases (93 imported cases; 823 indigenous cases, 302 in Guizhou province, 159 in Sichuan province, 101 in Tibet autonomous region, 55 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 52 in Jiangxi province, 30 in Hubei province, 25 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 22 in Heilongjiang province, 15 in Gansu province, 11 in Shandong province, 10 in Tianjin municipality, 10 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 8 in Liaoning province, 8 in Shaanxi province, 5 in Henan province, 4 in Guangdong province, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Yunnan province).

On Sept 14, 1,480 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (67 imported cases; 1,413 indigenous cases, 634 in Hainan province, 287 in Tibet autonomous region, 149 in Heilongjiang province, 41 in Sichuan province, 38 in Tianjin municipality, 37 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 34 in Qinghai province, 32 in Jiangxi province, 28 in Henan province, 25 in Liaoning province, 20 in Guangdong province, 17 in Shaanxi province, 14 in Hubei province, 13 in Gansu province, 8 in Hebei province, 8 in Guizhou province, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Jilin province, 5 in Shandong province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in Chongqing municipality). 38 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 14, 20,909 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 703 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 14, 6,208,064 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 402,928 in Hong Kong (9,830 had died and 79,426 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,804,343 in Taiwan (10,366 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
