The eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province ranked third in the "2021 City Nighttime Economic Influence Ranking" list, after Chongqing and Changsha.
The list was released during the inaugural ceremony of the China Urban Nighttime Economic Development Alliance, which was recently held in Jiangbei district, Chongqing.
The nighttime economy refers to business activities that take place between 6 pm and 6 am in the service sector, including shopping, catering, entertainment and leisure. It is a new force in China's economy.
