Sept 14: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 237 new cases of confirmed infections (41 imported cases, 11 in Fujian province, 11 in Guangdong province, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Yunnan province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 5 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Guangdong province and 1 in Sichuan province; 196 indigenous cases, 127 in Sichuan province, 18 in Beijing municipality, 10 in Shandong province, 8 in Tibet autonomous region, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 6 in Guangdong province, 4 in Hunan province, 3 in Guizhou province, 2 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, including 58 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 54 in Sichuan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Guizhou province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 13, 377 patients were released from hospital after being cured (44 imported cases; 333 indigenous cases, 176 in Hainan province, 43 in Guangdong province, 36 in Sichuan province, 28 in Tibet autonomous region, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Chongqing municipality, 6 in Shaanxi province, 5 in Heilongjiang province, 5 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 4 in Liaoning province, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Henan province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Qinghai province). 27,211 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Sept 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 23,169 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,606 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 563 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 13, the National Health Commission had received reports of 247,557 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 237,054 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 5,277 confirmed cases (including 32 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,751,134 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 238,780 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 825 new asymptomatic cases (63 imported cases; 762 indigenous cases, 246 in Guizhou province, 129 in Tibet autonomous region, 83 in Sichuan province, 55 in Jiangxi province, 51 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 44 in Heilongjiang province, 35 in Shandong province, 25 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 18 in Hubei province, 16 in Hebei province, 14 in Shaanxi province, 13 in Gansu province, 11 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 10 in Liaoning province, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Qinghai province, 3 in Guangdong province and 1 in Hunan province).

On Sept 13, 1,241 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (71 imported cases; 1,170 indigenous cases, 371 in Hainan province, 276 in Tibet autonomous region, 139 in Heilongjiang province, 51 in Jiangxi province, 48 in Qinghai province, 48 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 34 in Hebei province, 34 in Shandong province, 24 in Gansu province, 23 in Liaoning province, 20 in Hubei province, 20 in Guangdong province, 16 in Shaanxi province, 14 in Henan province, 13 in Sichuan province, 7 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 7 in Guizhou province, 6 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Jilin province, 5 in Chongqing municipality, 4 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps). 63 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 5 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 13, 21,511 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 679 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 13, 6,157,418 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 401,942 in Hong Kong (9,820 had died and 79,100 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,754,683 in Taiwan (10,329 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
