"Let's take the Shenzhen international hotel project as an example. The MiC project reduced carbon emissions by 67 percent in the construction stage and 26 percent in the operation stage compared with conventional buildings. The steel frames of the modules can also be reused when the building is demolished. This can cut carbon emissions by 17,000 metric tons," Zhao noted.

Hou Zhaoxin, one of China's leading experts on engineering survey and design, said that the industrialization of new types of buildings is an irreversible trend in today's construction industry.

Hou said: "Modular construction technology takes most stages of the building process into factories. It's an important carrier in the new-type construction industry. The connection joint determines the height of modular buildings, and standardization and productization are the important and difficult points in the popularization and application of modular construction technology.

"At this launch event, CSCI showcased the latest modular technology and products, which are highly innovative. I believe they will greatly accelerate the industrialization of new-type buildings in China."

Zhao said at the launch event: "As we pursue high-quality development, delivering better building performances and better products and services is a path that must be taken by the construction sector, which points the way forward for construction companies. Guarding the starry sky and our beautiful home has always been the motivation driving our pursuit of MiC green building technology. We look forward to working with you to promote the industrialization of construction to create a better life, add a touch of green to the city and contribute to the country's development and people's welfare."
