Sept 13: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 242 new cases of confirmed infections (54 imported cases, 14 in Shanghai municipality, 12 in Guangdong province, 11 in Fujian province, 8 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Liaoning province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province and 1 in Henan province; 188 indigenous cases, 126 in Sichuan province, 11 in Tibet autonomous region, 10 in Beijing municipality, 8 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Shandong province, 7 in Guangdong province, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Yunnan province, 3 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 2 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Gansu province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 39 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 29 in Sichuan province, 3 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 2 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Yunnan province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 12, 476 patients were released from hospital after being cured (56 imported cases; 420 indigenous cases, 205 in Hainan province, 67 in Tibet autonomous region, 59 in Sichuan province, 39 in Guangdong province, 16 in Heilongjiang province, 9 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Henan province, 4 in Chongqing municipality, 4 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Hubei province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 30,016 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 4.

As of 24:00 on Sept 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 23,128 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,562 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 566 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 247,320 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 236,677 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 5,417 confirmed cases (including 29 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,730,716 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 245,649 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 806 new asymptomatic cases (79 imported cases; 727 indigenous cases, 199 in Tibet autonomous region, 145 in Guizhou province, 84 in Sichuan province, 51 in Jiangxi province, 39 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 34 in Shandong province, 32 in Hubei province, 23 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 22 in Liaoning province, 22 in Gansu province, 21 in Heilongjiang province, 19 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 13 in Shaanxi province, 6 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Guangdong province, 3 in Hebei province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Hainan province, 2 in Qinghai province and 1 in Fujian province).

On Sept 12, 1,393 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (84 imported cases; 1,309 indigenous cases, 336 in Hainan province, 327 in Tibet autonomous region, 150 in Qinghai province, 94 in Heilongjiang province, 72 in Liaoning province, 59 in Shandong province, 37 in Sichuan province, 36 in Gansu province, 36 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 26 in Shaanxi province, 22 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 21 in Hebei province, 17 in Tianjin municipality, 16 in Hubei province, 15 in Guangdong province, 14 in Henan province, 13 in Jiangxi province, 7 in Chongqing municipality, 5 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Anhui province, 2 in Guizhou province, 1 in Shanxi province and 1 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps). 45 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 12, 21,990 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 692 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 12, 6,109,463 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 400,982 in Hong Kong (9,810 had died and 78,913 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,707,688 in Taiwan (10,312 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
