Sept 12: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 226 new cases of confirmed infections (62 imported cases, 21 in Guangdong province, 14 in Tianjin municipality, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 7 in Fujian province, 4 in Liaoning province, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 5 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Sichuan province and 1 in Guangdong province; 164 indigenous cases, 81 in Sichuan province, 17 in Guangdong province, 15 in Beijing municipality, 15 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 10 in Tibet autonomous region, 9 in Shandong province, 4 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Guizhou province, including 36 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 22 in Sichuan province, 4 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Qinghai province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 11, 545 patients were released from hospital after being cured (61 imported cases; 484 indigenous cases, 291 in Hainan province, 50 in Tibet autonomous region, 46 in Sichuan province, 25 in Guangdong province, 21 in Heilongjiang province, 8 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 8 in Chongqing municipality, 7 in Tianjin municipality, 5 in Liaoning province, 5 in Shaanxi province, 4 in Henan province, 3 in Hebei province, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 28,958 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Sept 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 23,074 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,506 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 568 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 11, the National Health Commission had received reports of 247,078 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 236,201 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 5,651 confirmed cases (including 25 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,708,405 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 253,535 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 868 new asymptomatic cases (83 imported cases; 785 indigenous cases, 216 in Tibet autonomous region, 136 in Guizhou province, 68 in Heilongjiang province, 62 in Sichuan province, 60 in Jiangxi province, 38 in Hubei province, 31 in Shaanxi province, 28 in Liaoning province, 28 in Shandong province, 26 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 24 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 17 in Gansu province, 15 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 11 in Guangdong province, 5 in Hebei province, 5 in Qinghai province, 4 in Henan province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Hainan province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Yunnan province).

On Sept 11, 1,469 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (84 imported cases; 1,385 indigenous cases, 370 in Hainan province, 325 in Tibet autonomous region, 210 in Qinghai province, 83 in Liaoning province, 60 in Henan province, 56 in Heilongjiang province, 51 in Shaanxi province, 45 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 34 in Hebei province, 33 in Sichuan province, 25 in Shandong province, 19 in Tianjin municipality, 19 in Hubei province, 16 in Gansu province, 12 in Guangdong province, 6 in Jiangxi province, 6 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Chongqing municipality, 3 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Guizhou province and 1 in Fujian province). 41 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 5 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 11, 22,622 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 703 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 11, 6,082,960 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 400,034 in Hong Kong (9,799 had died and 78,675 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,682,133 in Taiwan (10,284 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
