Sept 10: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 290 new cases of confirmed infections (51 imported cases, 23 in Guangdong province, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 7 in Fujian province, 4 in Yunnan province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Fujian province; 239 indigenous cases, 86 in Sichuan province, 33 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 26 in Guangdong province, 16 in Beijing municipality, 16 in Tibet autonomous region, 13 in Shandong province, 12 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 9 in Henan province, 5 in Guizhou province, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Qinghai province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Hainan province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Yunnan province, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Hubei province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Gansu province, including 49 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 25 in Sichuan province, 9 in Henan province, 8 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Guangdong province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Qinghai province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 9, 381 patients were released from hospital after being cured (51 imported cases; 330 indigenous cases, 121 in Sichuan province, 69 in Hainan province, 54 in Tibet autonomous region, 17 in Shaanxi province, 14 in Guangdong province, 11 in Heilongjiang province, 7 in Chongqing municipality, 6 in Shandong province, 5 in Qinghai province, 5 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Shanxi province, 4 in Henan province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Jilin province and 1 in Gansu province). 35,006 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Sept 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 22,957 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,397 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 560 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 9, the National Health Commission had received reports of 246,618 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 235,257 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 6,135 confirmed cases (including 26 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,658,316 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 269,246 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,090 new asymptomatic cases (96 imported cases; 994 indigenous cases, 306 in Tibet autonomous region, 111 in Heilongjiang province, 82 in Sichuan province, 81 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 70 in Shandong province, 59 in Jiangxi province, 53 in Liaoning province, 43 in Guizhou province, 39 in Hubei province, 36 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 27 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 18 in Shaanxi province, 18 in Qinghai province, 14 in Gansu province, 6 in Jilin province, 6 in Henan province, 6 in Guangdong province, 5 in Tianjin municipality, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Hainan province, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Yunnan province ).

On Sept 9, 1,772 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (87 imported cases; 1,685 indigenous cases, 1,139 in Tibet autonomous region, 87 in Hainan province, 68 in Henan province, 55 in Sichuan province, 49 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 46 in Shaanxi province, 39 in Heilongjiang province, 36 in Liaoning province, 27 in Shandong province, 23 in Qinghai province, 22 in Hebei province, 17 in Gansu province, 16 in Hubei province, 13 in Jiangxi province, 12 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 7 in Tianjin municipality, 7 in Chongqing municipality, 5 in Guangdong province, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Anhui province, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Yunnan province). 53 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 9, 23,313 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 653 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 9, 6,012,933 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 397,913 in Hong Kong (9,780 had died and 77,921 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,614,227 in Taiwan (10,225 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
