Sept 9: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 8, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 301 new cases of confirmed infections (42 imported cases, 16 in Guangdong province, 9 in Fujian province, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Guangdong province; 259 indigenous cases, 59 in Sichuan province, 42 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 36 in Guangdong province, 22 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 20 in Tibet autonomous region, 17 in Beijing municipality, 16 in Shandong province, 13 in Heilongjiang province, 7 in Qinghai province, 6 in Guizhou province, 4 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Yunnan province, 3 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Hainan province and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 41 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 15 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Heilongjiang province, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Guangdong province, 3 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 2 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Guizhou province, 1 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Qinghai province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 8, 336 patients were released from hospital after being cured (30 imported cases; 306 indigenous cases, 88 in Hainan province, 71 in Sichuan province, 30 in Tibet autonomous region, 24 in Heilongjiang province, 20 in Shaanxi province, 17 in Chongqing municipality, 14 in Guangdong province, 14 in Qinghai province, 5 in Henan province, 4 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shanxi province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Hubei province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Hunan province). 32,566 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 10.

As of 24:00 on Sept 8, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 22,906 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,346 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 560 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 8, the National Health Commission had received reports of 246,328 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 234,876 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 6,226 confirmed cases (including 28 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,632,275 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 278,389 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 8, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,103 new asymptomatic cases (70 imported cases; 1,033 indigenous cases, 347 in Tibet autonomous region, 109 in Heilongjiang province, 81 in Shandong province, 77 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 77 in Liaoning province, 77 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 71 in Sichuan province, 56 in Jiangxi province, 28 in Guangdong province, 27 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 15 in Qinghai province, 13 in Guizhou province, 12 in Hubei province, 11 in Shaanxi province, 8 in Henan province, 5 in Hainan province, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Fujian province, 3 in Gansu province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Jilin province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Yunnan province and 1 in Jiangsu province).

On Sept 8, 1,710 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (109 imported cases; 1,601 indigenous cases, 902 in Tibet autonomous region, 155 in Qinghai province, 135 in Hainan province, 59 in Shaanxi province, 50 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 49 in Hebei province, 38 in Henan province, 34 in Heilongjiang province, 34 in Hubei province, 28 in Shandong province, 27 in Sichuan province, 14 in Jiangxi province, 13 in Chongqing municipality, 12 in Gansu province, 11 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 8 in Liaoning province, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Guangdong province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Hunan province, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shanxi province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Anhui province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Jilin province). 43 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 8, 24,048 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 648 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 8, 5,977,507 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 396,687 in Hong Kong (9,769 had died and 77,564 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,580,027 in Taiwan (10,170 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
