Sept 7: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 380 new cases of confirmed infections (57 imported cases, 19 in Guangdong province, 12 in Shanghai municipality, 7 in Fujian province, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Sichuan province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Hunan province, including 7 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Sichuan province; 323 indigenous cases, 85 in Sichuan province, 76 in Tibet autonomous region, 57 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 42 in Guangdong province, 14 in Beijing municipality, 14 in Heilongjiang province, 13 in Hainan province, 12 in Shandong province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Guizhou province, 1 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Qinghai province, including 32 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 9 in Hainan province, 8 in Sichuan province, 6 in Guangdong province, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Tibet autonomous region, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and 1 in Heilongjiang province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 6, 327 patients were released from hospital after being cured (43 imported cases; 284 indigenous cases, 121 in Hainan province, 52 in Sichuan province, 48 in Tibet autonomous region, 15 in Chongqing municipality, 14 in Shaanxi province, 11 in Guangdong province, 4 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 3 in Hunan province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Hubei province). 40,292 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 5.

As of 24:00 on Sept 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 22,825 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,254 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 571 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 245,747 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 234,241 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 6,280 confirmed cases (including 39 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,568,963 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 281,034 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,315 new asymptomatic cases (68 imported cases; 1,247 indigenous cases, 389 in Tibet autonomous region, 179 in Heilongjiang province, 106 in Qinghai province, 81 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 80 in Shandong province, 77 in Liaoning province, 72 in Sichuan province, 68 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 58 in Jiangxi province, 29 in Guizhou province, 29 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 18 in Guangdong province, 14 in Henan province, 12 in Shaanxi province, 7 in Tianjin municipality, 7 in Hubei province, 6 in Jilin province, 6 in Hainan province, 6 in Gansu province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Anhui province).

On Sept 6, 1,001 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (89 imported cases; 912 indigenous cases, 409 in Tibet autonomous region, 177 in Hainan province, 62 in Qinghai province, 54 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 39 in Henan province, 30 in Shaanxi province, 26 in Gansu province, 23 in Sichuan province, 15 in Jiangxi province, 12 in Hubei province, 12 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 11 in Chongqing municipality, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Heilongjiang province, 5 in Hebei province, 5 in Shandong province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Anhui province, 3 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Guizhou province, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Hunan province). 39 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 7 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 6, 24,868 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 705 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 6, 5,898,530 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 394,012 in Hong Kong (9,741 had died and 76,740 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,503,725 in Taiwan (10,115 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
