The Yangzhou bureau of culture, radio, film, television and tourism in East China's Jiangsu province released four intangible cultural heritage-themed tourism routes to provide new experiences for tourists and local residents on Aug 27.

The routes will showcase more than 20 ICH items across the city's scenic spots, museums, ancient towns and villages, according to the authorities.

Here are the four routes.

The No 1 route integrates ICH items with the nighttime economy, making it possible for visitors to experience some ICH items when checking out the night market.

The route consists of two sub-routes: visitors can go on an immersive night tour of Slender West Lake and the night market near the east gate of Slender West Lake on the first sub-route. The other sub-route takes visitors to the Huajuli night market, Dongguan and Pishi streets, and Renfengli Historical and Cultural Block.

Visitors can learn about the history of some ICH on the No 2 route which features the Yangzhou Dual Museum (Yangzhou Chinese Block Printing Museum and Yangzhou Museum), the cultural block for the three kinds of well-known knives in Yangzhou (kitchen knife, foot-repaired knife and hair-cut knife) and Tianning Temple.

Tourists can visit the China Grand Canal Museum, the ICH hall of Yunhe Sanwan Scenic Spot and the China Huaiyang Cuisine Culture Museum when touring the No 3 route, which is themed on canal culture.

The No 4 route consists of two sub-routes: one sub-route includes scenic spots such as the Guazhou ancient town, the Zhang Ruoxu Memorial House, Yanhu village and the Beihu Wetland Park. The other sub-route takes visitors to the Shaobo ancient town, the Gaoyou Yucheng Postal Stop and the Wang Zengqi Memorial House.
