Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province has seen its cultural and creative industry thrive in recent years.
The city recently set a record at the recently-concluded Zijin Award Culture Design Competition, winning 36 awards.
The micro film by Wuxi Metro Resources Development Co Ltd, which depicts the responsibilities of young people from three subway repairers, received a gold award for public welfare.
The costume designed by Min Xue, a student at Wuxi-based Jiangnan University, also won gold. Min's design features technological elements and combines materials with different properties.
Many century-old brands in Wuxi also drew much attention at the competition.
Iron pan-maker Wangyuanji was inspired by the city's ancient town area to produce a two-handle iron pan resembling a turtle shell, which secured the bronze medal among century-old brands.
The NANIMOMO Huishan clay figurine series also received an award at the competition. The design team not only created blind boxes for Huishan clay figurines, but also opened a Huishan clay figurine-themed café at the Qingmingqiao historic and culture block, both of which have been well-received among young people.
Wuxi will formulate a three-action plan (2022-24) to promote the high-quality development of its cultural industry with its focus on digital culture, integration of cultural and tourism industries, and creative design.
