Sept 6: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 310 new cases of confirmed infections (46 imported cases, 16 in Guangdong province, 12 in Fujian province, 4 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Guangdong province; 264 indigenous cases, 68 in Sichuan province, 52 in Tibet autonomous region, 43 in Guangdong province, 39 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 30 in Hainan province, 7 in Heilongjiang province, 4 in Jiangxi province, 4 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 3 in Hebei province, 3 in Jilin province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, including 44 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 25 in Hainan province, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 3 in Jilin province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Sichuan province, 1 in Tibet autonomous region and 1 in Shaanxi province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 5, 310 patients were released from hospital after being cured (48 imported cases; 262 indigenous cases, 126 in Hainan province, 39 in Tibet autonomous region, 31 in Sichuan province, 12 in Guangdong province, 10 in Chongqing municipality, 10 in Shaanxi province, 7 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 5 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Fujian province, 3 in Hunan province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Shanxi province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Hubei province, 2 in Gansu province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Henan province). 32,333 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Sept 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 22,768 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,211 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 557 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 5, the National Health Commission had received reports of 245,367 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 233,914 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 6,227 confirmed cases (including 34 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,535,253 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 288,329 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,300 new asymptomatic cases (65 imported cases; 1,235 indigenous cases, 453 in Tibet autonomous region, 148 in Heilongjiang province, 93 in Qinghai province, 89 in Liaoning province, 70 in Jiangxi province, 70 in Sichuan province, 69 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 63 in Shandong province, 32 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 28 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 20 in Henan province, 19 in Jilin province, 17 in Guangdong province, 15 in Hubei province, 12 in Tianjin municipality, 10 in Gansu province, 9 in Hainan province, 5 in Hebei province, 4 in Anhui province, 3 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Guizhou province, 2 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Shaanxi province).

On Sept 5, 909 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (87 imported cases; 822 indigenous cases, 299 in Tibet autonomous region, 162 in Hainan province, 151 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 59 in Qinghai province, 24 in Henan province, 18 in Shaanxi province, 16 in Gansu province, 15 in Chongqing municipality, 13 in Jiangxi province, 12 in Hubei province, 10 in Sichuan province, 8 in Heilongjiang province, 7 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 6 in Guangdong province, 4 in Hebei province, 4 in Liaoning province, 4 in Shandong province, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Anhui province and 1 in Yunnan province). 48 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 5, 24,593 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 733 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 5, 5,860,729 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 392,877 in Hong Kong (9,732 had died and 76,361 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,467,059 in Taiwan (10,094 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
