Sept 5: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 349 new cases of confirmed infections (46 imported cases, 20 in Guangdong province, 9 in Fujian province, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Heilongjiang province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Shaanxi province; 303 indigenous cases, 105 in Sichuan province, 64 in Tibet autonomous region, 63 in Guangdong province, 14 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 14 in Hainan province, 13 in Liaoning province, 5 in Shandong province, 4 in Heilongjiang province, 4 in Jiangxi province, 4 in Qinghai province, 3 in Henan province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Guizhou province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, including 34 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 10 in Hainan province, 4 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Henan province, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Tibet autonomous region and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 4, 320 patients were released from hospital after being cured (49 imported cases; 271 indigenous cases, 138 in Hainan province, 42 in Tibet autonomous region, 26 in Sichuan province, 17 in Shaanxi province, 15 in Chongqing municipality, 8 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 4 in Shanxi province, 3 in Fujian province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Hubei province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Guizhou province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Gansu province). 35,713 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Sept 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 22,722 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,163 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 559 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 4, the National Health Commission had received reports of 245,057 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 233,604 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 6,227 confirmed cases (including 32 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,500,747 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 286,969 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,317 new asymptomatic cases (68 imported cases; 1,249 indigenous cases, 452 in Tibet autonomous region, 162 in Heilongjiang province, 95 in Qinghai province, 93 in Liaoning province, 80 in Sichuan province, 72 in Jiangxi province, 52 in Shandong province, 29 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 26 in Jilin province, 26 in Guangdong province, 25 in Guizhou province, 24 in Henan province, 18 in Hubei province, 17 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 16 in Hainan province, 13 in Hebei province, 13 in Anhui province, 12 in Tianjin municipality, 12 in Gansu province, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Yunnan province).

On Sept 4, 1,108 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (96 imported cases; 1,012 indigenous cases, 281 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 267 in Tibet autonomous region, 176 in Hainan province, 114 in Qinghai province, 38 in Henan province, 21 in Jiangxi province, 18 in Chongqing municipality, 13 in Heilongjiang province, 12 in Liaoning province, 11 in Hubei province, 9 in Hebei province, 9 in Shaanxi province, 7 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 6 in Gansu province, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Guangdong province, 4 in Anhui province, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Shanxi province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Yunnan province). 40 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 4, 24,250 asymptomatic cases (increased by 2 in Tibet autonomous region after verification) were still under medical observation (including 759 imported cases [increased by 1 in Shaanxi province after verification]).

As of 24:00 on Sept 4, 5,835,348 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 391,574 in Hong Kong (9,724 had died and 76,096 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,442,981 in Taiwan (10,063 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
