Sept 4: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 384 new cases of confirmed infections (70 imported cases, 18 in Guangdong province, 12 in Fujian province, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Heilongjiang province, 4 in Sichuan province, 4 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Shandong province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Sichuan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Guangdong province; 314 indigenous cases, 98 in Sichuan province, 79 in Guangdong province, 51 in Tibet autonomous region, 24 in Hainan province, 11 in Liaoning province, 11 in Jilin province, 10 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 8 in Qinghai province, 4 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Guizhou province, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 40 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 16 in Hainan province, 7 in Sichuan province, 6 in Tibet autonomous region, 4 in Jilin province, 4 in Qinghai province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Zhejiang province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 3, 493 patients were released from hospital after being cured (59 imported cases; 434 indigenous cases, 292 in Hainan province, 38 in Tibet autonomous region, 29 in Chongqing municipality, 29 in Sichuan province, 14 in Shaanxi province, 5 in Fujian province, 5 in Guangdong province, 4 in Gansu province, 4 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Hubei province, 3 in Qinghai province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Henan province). 26,218 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Sept 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 22,676 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,114 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 562 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 3, the National Health Commission had received reports of 244,708 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 233,284 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 6,198 confirmed cases (including 29 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,467,566 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 290,408 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,464 new asymptomatic cases (105 imported cases; 1,359 indigenous cases, 505 in Tibet autonomous region, 131 in Qinghai province, 113 in Liaoning province, 93 in Heilongjiang province, 88 in Sichuan province, 81 in Jilin province, 78 in Shandong province, 55 in Jiangxi province, 33 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 24 in Guangdong province, 21 in Hainan province, 19 in Tianjin municipality, 18 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 17 in Henan province, 16 in Hubei province, 16 in Gansu province, 15 in Hebei province, 12 in Guizhou province, 10 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 8 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Hunan province and 1 in Chongqing municipality).

On Sept 3, 1,368 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (76 imported cases; 1,292 indigenous cases, 448 in Hainan province, 288 in Tibet autonomous region, 233 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 101 in Qinghai province, 53 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 35 in Shaanxi province, 35 in Gansu province, 27 in Henan province, 14 in Sichuan province, 12 in Hubei province, 11 in Chongqing municipality, 8 in Jiangxi province, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 4 in Liaoning province, 4 in Fujian province, 3 in Hebei province, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Yunnan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Guangdong province). 46 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 3, 24,079 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 792 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 3, 5,799,580 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 390,146 in Hong Kong (9,716 had died and 75,770 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,408,641 in Taiwan (10,028 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
