Sept 3: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 502 new cases of confirmed infections (62 imported cases, 17 in Guangdong province, 12 in Shanghai municipality, 11 in Fujian province, 7 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Sichuan province, 4 in Yunnan province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Henan province, including 11 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Fujian province, 3 in Guangdong province, 3 in Sichuan province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Henan province; 440 indigenous cases, 128 in Sichuan province, 67 in Heilongjiang province, 65 in Guangdong province, 65 in Tibet autonomous region, 40 in Hainan province, 13 in Henan province, 8 in Liaoning province, 8 in Shandong province, 8 in Shaanxi province, 6 in Chongqing municipality, 5 in Qinghai province, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Guizhou province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Jilin province, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Hubei province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, including 159 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 60 in Heilongjiang province, 35 in Tibet autonomous region, 32 in Hainan province, 13 in Henan province, 7 in Sichuan province, 3 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Guizhou province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 2, 383 patients were released from hospital after being cured (41 imported cases; 342 indigenous cases, 211 in Hainan province, 57 in Tibet autonomous region, 26 in Guangdong province, 10 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 8 in Fujian province, 8 in Sichuan province, 5 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Henan province, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 3 in Guizhou province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Hubei province, 1 in Yunnan province, 1 in Gansu province and 1 in Qinghai province). 30,270 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Sept 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 22,606 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,055 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 551 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 2, the National Health Commission had received reports of 244,324 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 232,791 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 6,307 confirmed cases (including 28 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,428,846 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 278,347 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,486 new asymptomatic cases (107 imported cases; 1,379 indigenous cases, 524 in Tibet autonomous region, 168 in Heilongjiang province, 116 in Liaoning province, 104 in Qinghai province, 75 in Shandong province, 74 in Sichuan province, 40 in Henan province, 40 in Guangdong province, 35 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 30 in Jilin province, 29 in Hainan province, 25 in Hubei province, 24 in Gansu province, 23 in Jiangxi province, 21 in Hebei province, 18 in Tianjin municipality, 11 in Shaanxi province, 9 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 7 in Guizhou province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region).

On Sept 2, 1,513 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (82 imported cases; 1,431 indigenous cases, 810 in Tibet autonomous region, 285 in Hainan province, 134 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 49 in Qinghai province, 45 in Henan province, 19 in Jiangxi province, 15 in Shaanxi province, 11 in Zhejiang province, 9 in Gansu province, 8 in Chongqing municipality, 7 in Sichuan province, 7 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 5 in Hubei province, 5 in Guangdong province, 5 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 4 in Liaoning province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Anhui province, 2 in Guizhou province, 2 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Yunnan province). 170 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 11 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 2, 24,029 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 769 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 2, 5,765,423 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 388,747 in Hong Kong (9,709 had died and 75,412 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,375,883 in Taiwan (9,986 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
