The fifth China International Children's Fashion Week opened on July 27 at E-Fashion Town – located in the Linping district of Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province – and will run to July 31.
This year's event is encouraging children's clothes brands to feature digital technologies such as virtual reality, computer graphics and augmented reality to showcase products, both on-site and online.
In addition to runways, it includes a wide range of activities, such as the launch of children's wear inspired by Chinese intangible cultural heritage, a children's wear enterprise forum and a kid's model competition.
As a landmark annual gala to showcase fashion trends for kid's apparel, the event has been held in E-Fashion Town for three years.
E-Fashion Town has been designed to really give a boost to Zhejiang's fashion industry. In recent years, it has brought in a number of top designers and brands, both from home and abroad.
The town's long-term plan is to develop itself into an innovative base for digital fashion. The idea includes rolling out activities throughout the year, as well as incentives to stimulate the e-commerce and live-streaming industries.
