Nansha to become a marine sci-tech innovation center

The information office of the Guangzhou municipal people's government held a press conference to introduce the features of its plan for Guangzhou's marine economic development for the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) on Aug 24, among which Nansha was mentioned.

According to the plan, Guangzhou will become a leading global maritime capital with a developed marine economy, active marine technology innovation, outstanding marine city cultural characteristics, as well as a modernized marine governance system and governance capabilities by 2035.

The plan also proposed building Nansha district into a marine science and technology innovation center in South China.
