Aug 30: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Aug 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 382 new cases of confirmed infections (33 imported cases, 11 in Guangdong province, 5 in Fujian province, 5 in Shandong province, 3 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Sichuan province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region; 349 indigenous cases, 167 in Sichuan province, 49 in Tibet autonomous region, 37 in Hainan province, 24 in Guangdong province, 14 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 11 in Chongqing municipality, 8 in Tianjin municipality, 8 in Heilongjiang province, 8 in Shaanxi province, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Shandong province, 3 in Hunan province, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Shanxi province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Henan province and 2 in Qinghai province, including 53 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 16 in Hainan province, 15 in Sichuan province, 13 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 4 in Tibet autonomous region, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Qinghai province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Aug 29, 547 patients were released from hospital after being cured (70 imported cases; 477 indigenous cases, 392 in Hainan province, 17 in Guangdong province, 15 in Tibet autonomous region, 10 in Fujian province, 9 in Shaanxi province, 7 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 5 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Sichuan province, 4 in Chongqing municipality, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Shanxi province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Guizhou province and 1 in Qinghai province). 17,441 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 4.

As of 24:00 on Aug 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 22,385 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 21,875 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 510 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Aug 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 242,689 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 230,980 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 6,483 confirmed cases (including 29 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,280,748 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 225,393 were still under medical observation.

On Aug 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,447 new asymptomatic cases (79 imported cases; 1,368 indigenous cases, 645 in Tibet autonomous region, 109 in Sichuan province, 103 in Qinghai province, 66 in Heilongjiang province, 55 in Hainan province, 50 in Liaoning province, 43 in Tianjin municipality, 40 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 37 in Gansu province, 35 in Jiangxi province, 33 in Hebei province, 32 in Hubei province, 27 in Henan province, 19 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 16 in Shaanxi province, 14 in Shandong province, 14 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 12 in Guangdong province, 12 in Chongqing municipality, 3 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Shanxi province and 1 in Anhui province).

On Aug 29, 989 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (77 imported cases; 912 indigenous cases, 425 in Hainan province, 228 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 97 in Tibet autonomous region, 41 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 21 in Jiangxi province, 14 in Zhejiang province, 14 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 11 in Hubei province, 10 in Shaanxi province, 7 in Gansu province, 7 in Qinghai province, 6 in Jiangsu province, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Chongqing municipality, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region). 55 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Aug 29, 22,465 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 736 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Aug 29, 5,625,769 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 382,967 in Hong Kong (9,668 had died and 74,073 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 785 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,242,009 in Taiwan (9,866 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
