Chinese carmaker SAIC Maxus launched two MPV models on Saturday, as it steps up efforts to explore the segment.
The 2023 G20 Plus has five variants, priced from 189,800 yuan to 259,800 yuan, which the carmaker said is designed for high-end business use.
It measures 5,198 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width and 1,928 mm in height, with its wheelbase reaching 3,198 mm, one of the biggest in the segment.
There are different powertrain options for the G20 Plus.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine, which provides a maximum output of 120 kW and a top torque of 375 Nm and the 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine produces a maximum output of 165 kW and a top torque of 350 Nm.
Another model, the G20 ES, has two variants. They are priced at 165,800 yuan and 179,800 yuan, and their target customers are startups.
The G20 ES has the same dimensions as the G20 Plus. Its luggage space is 1,620 liters. The model is available in seven, eight and nine-seat configurations.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine generates 165 kW in output and 350 Nm in torque, and the 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine's maximum output reaches 120 kW and its top torque stands at 375 Nm.
SAIC Maxus has launched a number of MPV models this year, including the G90, the MIFA 9, the MIFA 5, as well as the 2023 G50 Plus that made its debut at the Chengdu auto show.
