On Aug 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 300 new cases of confirmed infections (50 imported cases, 15 in Guangdong province, 10 in Fujian province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Sichuan province, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Guangdong province; 250 indigenous cases, 91 in Hainan province, 54 in Sichuan province, 34 in Tibet autonomous region, 15 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 12 in Chongqing municipality, 6 in Guangdong province, 5 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Shaanxi province, 4 in Shanxi province, 4 in Henan province, 4 in Hunan province, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Liaoning province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Hubei province, 1 in Guizhou province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Gansu province, including 58 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 23 in Hainan province, 14 in Sichuan province, 12 in Tibet autonomous region, 4 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Guizhou province and 1 in Yunnan province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Aug 26, 691 patients were released from hospital after being cured (74 imported cases; 617 indigenous cases, 541 in Hainan province, 23 in Guangdong province, 13 in Shaanxi province, 10 in Tibet autonomous region, 6 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 4 in Jiangxi province, 4 in Chongqing municipality, 3 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Henan province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Yunnan province, 1 in Gansu province and 1 in Qinghai province). 23,511 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Aug 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 22,253 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 21,656 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 597 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Aug 26, the National Health Commission had received reports of 241,648 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 229,165 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 7,257 confirmed cases (including 34 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,195,360 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 199,502 were still under medical observation.

On Aug 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,194 new asymptomatic cases (88 imported cases; 1,106 indigenous cases, 419 in Tibet autonomous region, 229 in Hainan province, 77 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 65 in Qinghai province, 53 in Sichuan province, 42 in Henan province, 40 in Gansu province, 23 in Jiangxi province, 22 in Shaanxi province, 21 in Chongqing municipality, 17 in Fujian province, 15 in Hebei province, 15 in Hubei province, 13 in Heilongjiang province, 11 in Shanxi province, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Liaoning province, 6 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Shandong province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region).

On Aug 26, 1,249 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (67 imported cases; 1,182 indigenous cases, 691 in Hainan province, 324 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 31 in Zhejiang province, 29 in Tibet autonomous region, 24 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 22 in Jiangxi province, 12 in Shaanxi province, 9 in Hubei province, 9 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 6 in Qinghai province, 4 in Gansu province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Guizhou province and 1 in Yunnan province). 62 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Aug 26, 22,330 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 712 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Aug 26, 5,549,078 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 379,288 in Hong Kong (9,650 had died and 73,227 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 785 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,168,997 in Taiwan (9,773 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
