The Changyuanhe Grand Bridge, a key feature of the Huangshan-Qiandaohu Expressway, was successfully connected on Monday in mountainous Huangshan, Anhui province.
The expressway joins Huangshan Mountain in Anhui with Qiandao Lake in Zhejiang province — both among the country's most popular tourist attractions.
The bridge, the main part of which extends 280 meters, passes over the Changyuan River, a tributary of Xin'an River. It was the last major part of the expressway, according to the builder, China Railway No 4 Engineering Group.
Completion of the expressway makes it much more convenient for tourists to travel between the two scenic areas and visit more tourism sites along the way, the company said.
